Just like the Urban Growth Zone, the Activity Centre Zone is very similar in structure to the Priority Development Zone, which is similar to the Capital City, Docklands and Comprehensive Development Zones and even to the old Merri Urban Development Zone. Does anyone remember that golden oldie? It just goes to show that to facilitate an integrated, mixed use development over a long time period following detailed strategic analysis, more flexible planning tools are required than the ‘standard’ ones provided by the VPP. We are just glad everyone has finally come around to our way of thinking!
