Over the last weekend in February, a number of Collie staff members participated in the 24-Hour Mega Swim at the Fitzroy Pool. This was the eighth year Collie had participated in the Mega Swim.

Funds raised support the Go For Gold Foundation, which provides scholarships to people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), assisting them to aspire and achieve to the best of their ability and also contributes to financial assistance programs to provide support for people living with MS.

Each team participating in the Mega Swim can have up to fifteen swimmers. Each team must have one swimmer in the water for the entire 24 hours.

The event was again a great success and much credit should go to the organisers, in particular Carol Cooke. Around $250,000 was raised!!!

As for the Collie Dugongs, we swam about 68 kilometres and more importantly raised over $11,000 (great work team!!).

If you haven’t already, it’s not too late to donate. This can be done online here.
