_LOTS UNDER 300 SQUARE METRES NO PERMIT IF CODE MET

Minister for Planning announced on 14 July 2011 that in new (not yet approved) Precinct Structure Plans provisions will be included that will remove the need for planning permits for lots under 300 square metres provided there is compliance with new Growth Areas Small Lot Housing Code. The code and provisions will not be mandatory. The announcement suggests a positive step forward although a pity the new provisions will not relate to already approved precinct structure plans – but perhaps this might come as a second stage of implementation?
