_NEW DWELLING IN A RURAL CONSERVATION ZONE

Collie assisted the client in obtaining a town planning permit for the construction of a new dwelling on land in the Rural Conservation Zone in the Macedon Ranges.

As part of the land is located in the Cobaw Biolink, one of the complexities involved in the project was to site the proposed dwelling to avoid the removal of native vegetation as well as to satisfy Macedon Ranges Shire Council that natural regeneration of native vegetation will occur on part of the land to contribute toward enhancing the biolink.

Furthermore, as a second dwelling on the land is prohibited in the RCZ, we were successful in being able to avoid demolition of the existing dwelling by satisfying MRSC that the dwelling would be used for storage purposes.
