_Filling the Hole

Interesting in walking around the Melbourne CBD and particularly the Bourke Street mall, to see the large gap left by the demolition of the ‘Melbourne Walk’ buildings (except some facades on Bourke and Little Collins Streets and The Causeway). 

Recent press advises that the demolished buildings will be replaced by new development comprising three levels of retail above which will sit a new hotel.  A replacement arcade will link Bourke and Little Collins (as did Melbourne Walk) and the development will provide connections also to The Causeway (to the west) and to Union Lane (to the east).
