_NEW LIFESTYLE COMMUNITY FOR CLYDE NORTH

Collie worked with Stockland to obtain town planning approval for a new lifestyle community in Clyde North within the City of Casey.  The site is located opposite St Germain Central (pictured below), which is under construction and will comprises a full-line Coles supermarket and Liquorland with a variety of specialty retail stores.

The proposed lifestyle community includes more than 270 individual living units and a centralised clubhouse with both passive and active recreation facilities as well as other amenities for residents including a messy arts and workshop precinct and a number of ‘pocket parks’ for passive recreation.

Some key features of the project include:

  • lots overlooking a wetland;
  • each dwelling being architecturally designed by Clarke Hopkins Clarke;
  • a large clubhouse facility comprising dining and outdoor dining facilities, a bar, a gymnasium, an indoor swimming pool and spa, outdoor yoga, a library, a cinema and lawn bowls;
  • a high-quality landscape setting for the community with green open space connections.

As part of our role on the project, we provided early due diligence advice to assist with informing the purchase of the site, reviewed the existing conditions of the planning permit and prepared a detailed  planning application seeking to amend the permit to allow for the Stockland proposal.  Following a response to a Council request for further information and a review of the draft permit conditions by Collie, we are pleased to advise that an amended planning permit has been issued.
