How times are changing. Until recently, gas connections to subdivisions for residential development (plus new apartments and dwellings needing a permit), were a standard or at least very common requirement with the gas provider being a referral authority with permit condition powers.
Planning scheme amendment VC250 for the whole of Victoria prohibits (under all such planning permit application lodged from 1 January 2024) such gas connections.
