_New Childcare and Medical Approved For Huntly

Collie was engaged by Knowledge Group to obtain town planning approval for a childcare and medical centre in Huntly.  The new centre will be located along Midland Highway and is expected to service the existing community as well as the nearby Huntly East growth area that is expected to accommodate approximately 6,000 residents.

We are pleased to advise that a planning permit has since been issued by the City of Greater Bendigo and allows for:

• the development of a 156 place childcare centre, with an expected 40 staff members;
• the development of a medical centre with 8 consulting rooms;
• a combined large carparking area and associated landscaping. 

Our involvement included providing town planning input to assist in the design development stage of the project and to guide the preparation of supporting information necessary to submit with the planning permit application.  Following pre-application discussions with the Greater Bendigo City Council, Collie prepared a detailed town planning report that was submitted as part of the application package.

Collie also assisted in preparing a response to Council request for further information and in the post-lodgment discussions with Council and the project team regarding issues with managing vehicle access and on-site landscaping.
