_UPDATE ON THE ROMSEY STRUCTURE PLAN
You may recall that late last year, Collie assisted a client in preparing a submission to the Macedon Ranges Shire Council (Council) on the draft Romsey Structure Plan (RSP) and the Romsey Structure Plan Investigations Areas Report.
The RSP is set to guide the future development and the expansion of the Romsey township, making recommendations including on the implementation of growth areas, a protected settlement boundary (PBS) and rezoning and infrastructure strategies relating to employment, transport and other community uses.
Council issued recently a revised RSP, which responds to the 94 submissions from the community. The revised final draft RSP was considered by Council at a meeting on 22 May 2024. In a vote of 5/3, the final draft RSP was adopted as the RSP.
The adoption of the RSP has implications for planning policy and controls in the Municipality such as the settlement boundary for Romsey and thus it could be seen as an interim rather than final step.
