_El Jannah coming to Tarneit Gardens

You may recall that Collie previously assisted Sim Lian-Metro Capital (SLMC) in obtaining town planning approvals for the development of two pad sites at the Tarneit Gardens Shopping Centre which included:

  • a Snap Fitness Gym (555 square metres), a swim school (350 square metres) as well as a small retail tenancy;
  • a Kesari Restaurant (300 square metres), T-Gardens Fruit and Vegetables Store (600 square metres) and a third retail tenancy (550 square metres).

More recently Collie was pleased to assist SLMC in obtaining town planning approval on another pad site for the development of an El Jannah ‘convenience restaurant’.

Collie worked closely with the project team on advising changes to the design that would maximise the development potential of the site while ensuring that the design responded to some of the initial concerns raised by Wyndham City Council.

A key challenge on the project was to manage expectations from Council regarding north-south pedestrian connectivity through the site.  Initially, Council was requiring a pedestrian path through the site however, we were able to convince Council that this would be more appropriate elsewhere where it could be better integrated and activated by future development in the centre.

Collie looks forward to the project commencing and continuing its involvement on further planned expansions to the Shopping Centre.
