_They do things differently in Indonesia

As a change of pace from our usual planning updates, a Collie employee recently returned from a trip to Jakarta, Indonesia having attended a wedding that was like no other.  Held in a convention centre, the event lasted 10 hours with an estimated 2,500 guests in attendance.  There was live music, including specific performances from the bride and groom themselves, as well as a constant conveyor belt of traditional food for the hungry guests.

The day was filled with a procession of family, friends and community groups offering the newly wed couple and their families well wishes and gifts, as well as traditional practices which cemented the union of the couple.  It also happened to be streamed on various social media platforms for those unable to attend.

It was a privilege to experience and be part of such a special event but we will be back to our normal programing next week.
