_TESS TATTOOED

In July this year, Collie Town Planner Tessa Bond travelled with OzScot Australia to Switzerland to dance at the Basel Tattoo.  OzScot Australia is Australia’s premier international highland dancing team and includes dancers from all over Australia.  The team of 36 danced in 15 performances over eight days, each in front of a crowd of 7,800.  The dance item performed by OzScot Australia combined traditional and contemporary steps and was danced to music played by the Scots College Pipe Band from Sydney and the Pipes and Drums of the Royal Air Force.

The Tattoo included performances from many different bands and performance groups from around the world, including the Swiss Army Band, the Australian Army Band, the Singapore Armed Forces Band and the Changxing Lotus Dragon Folklore Group among others.

Basel Tattoo is held at the Basel military barracks (Kaserne Basel) and is the second largest open-air tattoo, after the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and is held every year during July.
