_NEW MEDICAL CENTRE IN HIGHLANDS

Collie has provided the town planning services in the application and issue of a planning permit for a large medical centre in Highlands, Craigieburn.  The medical centre is located on the corner of Aitken Boulevard and Central Park Avenue, in close proximity to the Craigieburn town centre and the Hume Global Learning Centre.

The planning permit allows for the development of a medical centre to cater for 25 practitioners providing a variety of medical services including general practitioners, dental, podiatry, optometry and pathology.  Consulting rooms, specialist rooms, office space and a car park, including an ambulance bay and bicycle spaces, were all approved by the planning permit.

With the population in Craigieburn expected to almost double in size from 2015 to 2036 along with the population growth that will occur in the nearby suburbs of Merrifield and Donnybrook, the Craigieburn medical centre will help cater for the demand for new health facilities in the region which are presently under supplied.

Collie involvement included providing planning input to assist in the design development stage of the project and to guide the preparation of supporting information necessary to submit with a planning permit application package.  Following attendance at a pre-application meeting, Collie prepared a detailed planning report on the proposal that was submitted to Hume City Council as part of the planning permit application collated by Collie.

Collie looks forward to the completion of this project and the commencement of medical services.
