_JENKIN PROJECT
Collie provided town planning advice and landscape architectural design input to assist the client with obtaining a planning permit through consent orders without the need to attend a VCAT hearing. Darebin Council had refused to grant a planning permit for the original development proposal for the construction of three double storey townhouses in Jenkin Street, Reservoir.
The Collie role included:
- reviewing the amended development plans and providing advice on the best solutions;
- preparing an informative landscape concept design to assist visualising the development;
- liaising with VCAT;
- reviewing and advising on the draft planning permit conditions.
Following agreement by all parties, a planning permit was issued through VCAT consent orders.
Subsequently Collie assisted with planning permit condition compliance, including preparing a landscape plan package for endorsement, to comply with planning permit conditions 6a to 6n. Key aspects of this package included the landscape plan showing the location/type of all proposed planting and landscape surfaces, the plan showing the trees to be retained and TPZ details, the plant schedule, the relevant landscape construction details [for tree and shrub planting, paving, edging, and an inground raingarden], and landscape works notes for the landscape contractor.
