_TITANIUM MANUFACTURING PLANT

Collie assisted Coogee Energy in obtaining a town planning permit for the development of a world-leading titanium manufacturing plant behind an existing methanol plant in the industrial precinct of Laverton North. Collie was involved in negotiations with both Wyndham City Council and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning. to address on-site native vegetation issues. The development approved by the town planning permit will comprise:

• 3,084 square metres of plant area located within two process buildings;
• a 200 square metres amenities building;
• extension of existing internal roads;
• car parking and loading/unloading facilities.

Coogee Energy has developed the direct powder titanium manufacturing process in partnership with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). The plant, which is the first of its kind in the world, will be operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week and produce approximately 100 tonnes of titanium powder per annum.
