_HIGHLANDS EXPANDS
Collie worked with Stockland in obtaining town planning approval for the residential subdivision of land within the Craigieburn R2 Precinct Structure Plan area. The approved subdivision, known as ‘Development Plan 60’, represents another expansion to its award-winning community ‘Highlands’.
The approved subdivision comprises:
- 180 lots with a mix of conventional and medium densities;
- an area of open space forming part of the Aitken Creek drainage corridor;
- a future 3.5 hectares government primary school site.
Collie prepared the town planning permit application package and worked closely with the project team to satisfy a Hume City Council (Council) request for further information, which culminated in the issue of the planning permit.
A key challenged on the project was being able to demonstrate to Council that the number of road connections to Marathon Boulevard was appropriate both from a traffic volumes and solar orientation perspective with the subdivision being designed to maximise the number of east-west lots.
An excerpt from the approved subdivision plan is shown below.
