_Knoxfield Development Approved at VCAT
Collie provided specialist town planning services, as one member of the project team assembled by Development Victoria to facilitate the redevelopment of the former agricultural research farm on the 23 hectares site at 621 Burwood Highway, Knoxfield.
The site is covered by the Burwood Highway and Scoresby Road Knoxfield Comprehensive Development Plan, approved in 2018, and will include residential, utility installation and mixed use development.
The first planning permit applications were lodged for lots in stages 1 and 2 subdivision, a utility installation, native vegetation removal, access to a road in a Transport Zone 2 and signs.
Additional planning permits for stages 2a, stages 3 to 5 subdivision, native vegetation removal were prepared and lodged in 2022.
The subdivision (stages 1 and 2) and utility installation permit applications were refused by Knox City Council (Council) and resulted in a lengthy case at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), which was completed in December 2023.
Earlier this week VCAT, set aside the decision of Council as the responsible authority and directed the permits be issued.
